Dee Lynes

Director, brightSOLUTIONS
After working as a Practice Manager, Dee set up brightSOLUTIONS and now has over 11 years’ experience providing management consultancy support to GP Practices, Federations and PCNs. She has successfully project managed various practice mergers; the largest bringing four practices together with 36,000 patients and 19 partners. Dee contributed three chapters to the popular GP Business’ Guide to GP Practice Mergers providing advice on the practical issues that need to be addressed early on in a merger, how to support staff through the process and effective patient engagement. Dee’s interests include using Balanced Scorecard methodology to undertake organisational reviews of federations and, as a member of the Chartered Governance Institute, she is passionate about supporting Federation Boards to review directors’ performance and strengthen corporate governance arrangements. Before working in healthcare, Dee worked in the VCSE and statutory sectors. She recently led an innovative consortium of senior health and social care managers, VCSE and local authority professionals, and private business representatives to secure £500k Lottery funding to help reduce health inequalities in Scarborough. Dee is an accredited interpersonal mediation practitioner, and a member of the Department of Health and Social Care's Advisory Committee on Clinical Impact Awards (Yorkshire and Humber sub-committee).
