How to improve your diagnosis of ovarian cancer

Ovarian cancer often presents late with vague symptoms which is often a challenge for primary care. This session with cover the presentation of ovarian cancer patients. What key points to cover in the history and what to look for during an examination when making a diagnosis. It will go through the current NICE guidance. It will also cover safety netting and common learning themes for primary care from retrospective audits.   

  • -Awareness of the symptoms and signs of ovarian cancer
  • -How to take a good history and examination
  • -When to refer on the urgent suspected cancer pathway
  • -When to request a pelvic ultrasound scan
  • -How to safety net patients
